IYENGAR YOGA
Iyengar Yoga is named after its founder BKS Iyengar who is one of the leaders of yoga and instrumental for popularising yoga across the word.
The Iyengar method pays detailed attention to the bodies alignment while balancing the development of strength and flexibility. An Iyengar Yoga teacher will offer a steady stream of instruction as they take the class through a planned sequence of poses.
Our Iyengar Level 1 classes are ideal for beginners but suitable for all level students. The class covers all the basic poses to provide a good foundation to move up to Level 2.
Our Iyengar Level 2 classes include the foundation poses and add inversions, introductory arm balances, and basic backbends. All levels welcome. No experience in the Iyengar method is required.
Level 1-2 class is suitable for all levels. It is a great class if you are normally attending level 1 and want to move up to level 2.
VINYASA
Vinyasa refers to the style of yoga that incorporates movement in between poses. Vinyasa style yoga is a flowing, dynamic sequence of poses. The breath is linked together with a creative progression of postures that heats, lengthens, strengthens, tones, and purifies the muscles and organs. When we flow with our breath, moving from one posture to another, we find a meditation in motion. The connecting movements become as important as the postures themselves.
Vinyasa Level 1 covers all the introductory poses and gives a good foundation for the Vinyasa style.
Vinyasa Level 2 classes build on the foundations by exploring, arm balances, and backbends. Some previous experience with yoga is assumed.
YIN/RESTORATIVE
Yin yoga is therapeutic and healing for the body. It can release deep held tensions specifically in the hips and spine. Through long supported holds, we are able to work deeply within our joints and release tension/pressure. Yin Yoga postures apply moderate stress to the connective tissues—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation and improving flexibility. Restorative Yoga is aimed to achieve total relaxation. The postures are held for a long duration but totally supported so the musular skeletal bod &, organic body can rest and restore. These methods of yoga improve organ health, immunity, and emotional well-being. All levels welcome.
