Meet the Team

Kate Roseth

I’ve been practicing Yoga since 2004 and started teaching in 2009. I was trained in the Iyengar yoga method which provided a very structured foundation to teach from.

Yoga is so much more than doing postures and I love any opportunity to teach yoga postures so that I might be able to share the real depth yoga has to offer.

Belinda Hoult

I've been practising Iyengar yoga since 2001. I'm a certified teacher and been teaching since 2016. I was never a sporty kid and I love how the practice of yoga has brought me back to my body, to appreciate it and inhabit it more fully.

Yoga is a practical tool that lets you see yourself more clearly, not just your physical body but your mental and emotional bodies too.

Nicole Elliot

Nic has completed 460hr diploma of yoga teaching with IYTA and 350hr yoga teacher training with Live and Breathe Yoga School, a long-time yoga student and Yoga Australia registered.
She began practicing yoga in 2010, and she has been teaching yoga in 2015.

Nic’s journey in yoga started at the age of 35 when she discovered ashtanga yoga and it’s powerful healing aspects after years of bad postural alignment.

Nic started a yoga practice to strengthen her body and along the way she discovered the power of the breath and the calming of the mind.  She has been practicing yoga ever since.

Her love of yoga comes out through her teaching style in which she shares her passion for ashtanga and hatha yoga practices in a down to earth and practical manner with attention to physical alignment and internal awareness. Nic wishes to make yoga accessible to everybody.

Striving to assist her students in self-discovery, allowing for growth within their current capabilities and setting them up for success not only in their pursuit of yoga but in their daily lives.

Haruka Sasaki

Haruka discovered yoga while self studying oriental therapy when she was in university in Japan. Oriental perspective to see the world through the two opposite energies, yin and yan, fascinated her at the beginning, and she slowly started to practice yoga asana as a part of spiritual practice.

Her initial training was bhakti yoga based hatha yoga training in Adelaide on 2015, and that was the time her chanting journey began.

She finished a month yoga course in S-VYASA Yoga University in Bangalore, India, on 2020, and soon after that, 9-month yoga therapy/philosophy course in Krishnamacharya's tradition.

Since then, she has continued her study on yoga philosophy and practice on yoga sutras chanting, which is her biggest passion on yoga path.

Josh Barnes

I first discovered the curious art of yoga in 1995 in my first year at the University in Brisbane. I tried Ashtanga for a year but moved into a regular Iyengar practice in 2008, and life was never the same.

In 2019, I was fortunate to train in the 'Anusara' method, a modern form of Hatha yoga. I started teaching at Agoy Yoga in 2021.

I am passionate about the transformative health benefits of yoga.

Brooke Smith

My training was in Hatha and Vinyasa style but I fell deeply in love with Yin Yoga - to teach and practice. Life long learning is so powerful, at end of 2022 I will be a Yoga Therapist.I love that breath and movement are an entry into discovering self-awareness and how continued practice guides us towards uncover the endless depth of relationship with yourself and the world.

Kelsey Kreft

I discovered yoga as a teen and fell in love with the practice immediately. After returning home from living in Spain I decided to pursue a teacher training course to begin sharing my passion with others. I love connecting the breathe and movement together and also finding moments of stillness.

I endeavor to create a space where people of all levels feel they can come, explore and deepen their practice in a safe and supportive environment. Originally from Lake Stevens, Washington I started teaching in 2019. In December of 2019 I moved to Australia and in January of 2021 I moved up to Darwin to teach yoga.

Janina Murta

I was first introduced to yoga through mantra meditation when I was a teenager. Later on, in my twenties, I started practicing asana with an Ashtanga school that followed the lineage of K. Pattabhi Jois.

Coming from a dance background, the physicality of this practice attracted me. Then, I moved to Australia and discovered all of these other traditions and lineages of yoga. I did my 200-hour training in 2018 with the Byron Yoga Centre, and in 2021, I started studying Yoga Therapy with the Yoga Institute in Sydney, following the lineage of T.K.V. Desikachar and Krishnamacharya.

I have completed 500 hours of Yoga Teacher Training, including 75 hours in oncology yoga with Yoga4Cancer. I am also a dance movement therapist and am passionate about making yoga and dance accessible to everyone. Yoga is for everyone!

Korina Mckenzie

I’m Korina Mckenzie a health enthusiast, I’ve had the privileged of working in the fitness industry for the past 20 years, teaching everything from free style aerobics, aqua aerobics to Les Mills programs to one-on-one personal training.

I came across Yoga 9 years ago after the birth of my third child, what I loved about Yoga and meditation is that the practice is holistic for the body, the mind and the spirit, regardless of where we are in our lives with our health, energy levels or physical abilities we can all do yoga, it is a practice that keeps offering opportunities to transform every day. With what I had gained and learnt I wanted to share it with the world and help people achieve great health and balance in life.

Combining playfulness, curiosity, Asana. Pranayama and meditation together.

I believe that yoga is accessible to all and welcome everybody to the mat.

Emily Williams

I've been teaching yoga since 2016, and I love how yoga helps us cope with stress. I personally struggle with anxiety, and I find that yoga practice helps me get out of my own head and quieten down my busy mind.

I am guided by a few principles as a yoga teacher, firstly that yoga should be simple.

Secondly, I teach people, not poses.

Thirdly, yoga can be fun, so I will try and make you smile:)

Joanne FitzGerald

I appreciate the grounding effects yoga has on my mind and body.

I have practised yoga for 10 or so years, and completed my 200hr yoga teacher training in 2021.

In my practice I enjoy dynamic movement, exploring breath, and a blend of philosophy and science for my mind to ponder.

Devika Nguyen

I started practicing yoga in 2008 and embarked on the teaching journey in 2010. I was trained in Sivananda Yoga, a classical and holistic approach to Hatha Yoga. My personal asana practice, however, has been a combination of mainly Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, Yin and fusion styles because I love experimenting and embracing the diversity Yoga has to offer. It has been a great pleasure to share my experiences and I look forward to learning from Agoy Yoga community.

Jenny Devlin

Jenny is certified to teach in the Iyengar method of yoga, with a focus on integrating body, breath and mind. With over 25 years of practice on the mat, her teaching is filled with gratitude for the way yoga brings us home to ourselves.

Courtney Elms

Hi everyone! In today's world of constant noise and stress, I believe yoga offers a powerful antidote. My journey began in 2016, seeking an anchor to reconnect with myself and quiet my racing mind.

What I discovered was a practice packed with benefits - strength, flexibility, and most importantly, the ability to find calm amidst the chaos. That's why I completed my teacher training in 2023. Each pose, each breath, becomes a chance to listen to yourself, move with intention, and find your center. No matter where you are in life, yoga can equip you with the tools to navigate even the stormiest seas with grace and presence.
